Welcome Back!

Welcome Back

The first day of school will be Tuesday September 5th. This is an important day for students to attend because we count the students and organize our classes during this first week. Please contact the school office if you will be absent or you are moving. Students will be dismissed at 10:00am on this first day.

First Week of School for 2017

During the first week of school in September Students at Windsor Elementary will be participating in meaningful activities that provide them with opportunities to get reacquainted with each other and their teachers. Windsor students will be returning to the same classroom they were in last year for this first week. The focus of the first week is to build a cohesive and connected school where all of our children learn, share and contribute to a socially responsible community. Students will remain in these temporary classes until Friday, at which point class organizations will be fine-tuned. New students will report to the front office and meet Ms. Dudley who will walk them to the library Tuesday morning and will be directed into temporary classes for the remainder of the week.

Parent Meeting in Library on Tuesday Setp. 5th starting at 10:30am

Kindergarten paretns will meet in the library from 10:30-11:45am (upstairs, 2nd floor.) This meeting is for parents only; please let your chlild know so that they are not disppointed. At this meeting we will talk about our program and the gradual entry process. This is also a time to confirm that your child will be coming to Windsor and to sign up for a short (15-20 min) family meeting with the Kindergarten teachers. Our New Kindergarten students will not attend classes this first week, but only attend the meeting time they signed up for. Parents should have received a letter in August with their details of our Kindergarten gradual entry program.

School Supplies

Students are not required to bring their full set of school supplies to school during the first week.  Please have your child bring just a small pencil case with pencils, eraser, scissors, glue and crayons for the first week.  (Labeled with names).  All other supplies can be kept at home until students are permanently placed in their homeroom classes.  Individual teachers may request additional supplies that pertain to their programing needs.

We look forward to seeing all of you on September 5, 2017.
