Welcome! Windsor is a vibrant learner-focused community, grounded in positive relationships. We are proud of our school and our students’ many accomplishments.
Our students learn about the world around them and the skills, knowledge and attitudes they need to be successful, self-regulated learners. They are encouraged to learn through their diverse classroom experiences, school wide activities, celebrations and a variety of extracurricular sports teams. Leadership is a foundation in our intermediate grades and students are encouraged to volunteer for in-school service opportunities including office, library, classroom, audio-visual, lunch and recycling monitor jobs. Our grade 7 students participate in many service activities throughout the year such as setting up for school and community events and providing special opportunities for our primary students such as face painting for hallow e’en and Easter egg hunts.
Windsor provides support for students and their families with a daily breakfast program, a hot lunch program, after-school programs, and links to the YMCA before and after school care and St. Andrew’s Daycare. Parents and family members are encouraged to learn more about our school by attending PAC meetings, parent-teacher meetings, and joining us for our monthly student-led Windsor ROCKS gathering where the the entire school community celebrates our success. ROCKS stands for R-Respect O-Ownership C-Cooperation K-Kindness S-Safety.
Our dedicated staff continually work together to learn new ways of engaging students and supporting students to reach their potential. This year we are focusing on writing, and social emotional learning in the area of solving problems peacefully and to self-regulate emotions. We have a strong ELL and learning support program for students who need support with language, learning or behavioural challenges. We are excited to continue our Home Reading Club with monthly incentives.
We warmly welcome new students and families. Please explore our website to learn more about our school and members of the Windsor community. If you would like additional information beyond what’s available here, please contact me via email, phone or in person. I look forward to meeting with you.
